Hi! Welcome to Spring Moon! My name is Farheen and I am thrilled to share with you my love for creating unique and handmade wire wrapped jewelry.

A medical and scientific illustrator by profession, I have always been intrigued by organic forms and colours that exist in nature. My training in landscape watercolour paintings and Japanese sumi-e painting has further inspired me to pay careful attention to natural shapes that exist around us and to try and capture them with the simplicity of a few brushstrokes and colours.

So imagine my excitement when four years ago I started experimenting with wire wrapped jewelry and discovered that I could now indulge in my love for organic shapes and natural forms not just on a flat surface as I do when I am painting but now in 3D as well. Instead of my paints I now was able to work with a palette of unique beads, found objects, Swarovski crystals, freshwater pearls and natural stones all bound together with stainless steel and copper wire to create unique, edgy and functional pieces of art.

The name Spring Moon was given to me by my Japanese Sumi-e instructor or sensai, at the end of my 5 year long apprenticeship with him. At the end of my training he carved this name into a seal which I now use as a signature to stamp my paintings. By giving this name to my Shop, it was my hope to make you a part of my ongoing creative journey as I continue to experiment, explore and be inspired by nature.
